8 Reasons Why Generation Y is the Worst Generation Ever

Being born in 1984, I have always loved American Culture. Growing up artists like Tupac, Guns N Roses and Rage Against the Machine were among my favorite. I remember hearing Nirvana's Nevermind for the first time and being emotionally overwhelmed. Clinton was president, pro black movements were huge, skateboarding was rampant, clothes were baggy, Fashion didn't mean expensive and rebellion was at an all time high. Even going to one of the wealthiest high school's in my state, upon reaching gradiation, no one had a cell phone. Getting "143" pages and writing notes replaced texting. I used to talk to girls on the phone for hours. Now if you call a girl your sense of urgency might scare her into next week.

Nothing is the same now. There is a complete void of sympathy and a complete sense of entitlement. Music consists of artists like Nicki Minaj, Young Thug and One Hit Wonder Irish- Folk- Pop artists. I remember how bad my skin crawled the first time I heard Drake or ASAP Rocky. Obama is president, No one stands for anything, Video games and social media dominate, Fashion means overpriced deesigner brands, pants are glued on and conformity is as common as a Pauly D haircut on Federal Hill. Dating is done online alot of the time with girls posting pictures of their tits hanging out then complaining how all these "Creeps," won't leave them alone, as if any other kind of attention would be the outcome. I have compiled a list of the 8 reasons why Generation Y is the worst generation ever.

1. Sense of Entitlement- With shows like Keeping up with the Kardashians, The Hills and Laguna
Beach at the top of the ranks, it is no surprise that most of these late teens and young 20
somethings believe that they can become famous. Here's the catch. For no reason. I mean, why
not? Even the foolish, young and mostly trashy teen moms on MTV have been awarded their own
shows in exchange for self exploiting and opening up their child to further scrutiny than their
less than desirable situation already exposes them too. If you don't work for something, you will
not be rewarded. However, this generation has made it clear than being a celebrity personality
should include nothing other than being selfish, whiny and melodramatic. Because let's face it,
You are all stars of your own reality show.

"Of course I deserve more!! Life is like so typical and unfair!"

2. Selfies- What says "Narcissism," like a selfie? I am not a professional mathematician, but there is
a strong correlation between crazy and the ratio of selfies in someone's profile. Add that
photoshopping and airbrushing the shit out of your pictures is an expected, common practice and it
becomes clear that this type of selfish worship is out of control. Girls take a picture in their
club outfits and receive 200 and 300 likes. These women are nothing special outside of Facebook.
However, the chances of them getting to really be comfortable with themselves and their beauty is
comprimised by the false sense of appreciation that hundrends of bonered up gentleman will
bombard them with on social media. If a girl's selfie ratio is greater than 1:5 you my sirs, have a
    "Crazy."

Girls be like, "New Haircut!"

3. Slang- Common slang in the 90's was Phat, mad, fresh, dope, trifling, weak, Hella, nah mean?
Alot of the words were creative and had a fun connotation. Do some of them sound dumb? Sure.
However, in comparison with the current generation's slang, we were geniuses. Yolo? Fleek?
On one? The fact that "Leaning," which involves mixing codeine with sprite is a popular way
to spending an evening out with your friends warranting it's own term describing your entire
central nervous system shuttinig down should say it all about this generation. Being the spoiled
Hollywood brat who raids their parents medicine cabinet is an aspiring feat. Let's face it, you are
all deserving of being the center of attention in your VIP booth. Turn Up you dumb fuck!

YOLO, especially
if you "lean!"

  4. Fashion- ASAP Rocky, Young Thug and Lil Wayne wear dresses. That's it. I don't need to say
anything else. Oh yeah, also, Air Yeezus.

 Young Thug is a G!!

5. Technology- Cell phones, facebook, twitter, snapchat, instagram, texting and the list goes on and
on. While it may seem that this is not the fault of the younger generation buying into it is. How
many relationships start and end on Facebook? How many options does anyone with a decent
looking profile picture have presented to them on a daily basis? If you have a significant other
it is common practice for them to be getting "poked," "Commented on," and "Inboxed," on a daily
basis. How unnatural is that? Not only does social media play with self image- it surrenders your
privacy and makes you accessible to any and everyone, whether you like it or not. Another fad
that is popular is posting drugs,  illegal guns, incriminating statements, etc. on their facebook
walls, essentially "Dry Snitching," on themselves. Good job Gangstas. From sexting
to poking to the fact that a phone conversation is considered overkill, this generation is immune
to reality and more in tune to the "reality," seen in reality shows.

I tweet everything! Yolo!

6. Music- The fact that emcees like Slug from Atmosphere or Masta Ace, who could be considered
anti-ego,  are becoming less and less listened to are indicative of the generation's selfish and
self-serving dispositions. Artists like Nicki Minaj, who beyond dying her skin and creating herself
in Barbie's image inside of a doctor's office, are completely opposite of the Tupac Shakur's, Wu
Tang Clan's and Nirvanas. What they spoke about was equality, self awareness, social awareness,
societal oppression. Nicki Minaj talks about wearing designer brands, what is more oppressive than
the need for common American's to afford 2000 Pumps and several surgeries? This generation is
completely selfish look no further than a Kanye West lyric.

Nicki Is the Realest!

7. Desensitization-This generation is made up of a bunch of superstars. How selfish would you be
If you had a sense of entitlement so big? Everything short of living in a 27 million dollar house
and having their own show on a major network is failure. And if you say anything negative it is
"hating." There is no "criticism," anymore, because you are "Hating." I mean no one could possibly
be wrong...right? Plus, how could you connect with another human being when you never look up
from your ipad and when you spend more time staring at a PDA screen then the natural light of
the sun? Between narcissim and technology don't expect to see boy scouts helping the elderly cross
the street, but rather, a young king in his own world, painting the perfect picture of his sucesses,
no matter how small on social media for the world to acknowledge. If you are on fire, there is a
chance you their phones will be used to put you on youtube instead of calling for help.

Famous on Worldstar.

8. Reality Television- The mere fact that people like Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian are revered
as accomplished, "Business women," should say it all about this generation. These women who
have shamed themselves and their families, who even having all the money in the world,
needed to perform sexually explicit acts on tape just to let the world know they existed, are on
top of the world. Generation Y loves people like this. They did nothing and yet they have
everything. Unrealistic or not, this medium of media has taken over even stations like MTV (Music
Television) who has not played more than a couple videos in over a decade. Young girls of the
I urge you to go out there and suck a dick. But make sure it's on camera. You are all potential
"Business women." And I salute you.

Business Woman, Kim K.
